Restorations vary in cost and all pictures will need to be seen before quoted for. Most restorations are between £60 and £100 depending on the damage to be corrected. You can send your photographs through to Photo Restoration Leicester in three ways: In Person: Often the best way to have an image restored is to bring the original into the STORMComponents shop in Loughborough. I can take scans of the original while you wait and give you quote for the work too; detailing what needs to be done. You can find me at 88 Derby Road, Loughborough, LE11 5AG. I work out of a blue shop named STORMComponents. By Post: If you're unable to bring the originals into the shop, posting your photos or negatives to us allows us to scan them locally and keep them safe until they're returned along with your restoration prints. When sending by post ensure to use a recorded and tracked delivery service. I'd advise sending photographs between pieces of thick card to ensure they arrive safely and undamaged. Home Scanning and Email: If you have a scanner or 'all-in-one' printer at home, you could scan your photographs yourself and send them via email to Photo Restoration Leicester. Please follow the scanning guidelines below for home scanning: • Scan your photos between 600-1200DPI if possible, or 300DPI minimum. Note that DPI is sometimes called PPI. • Make sure your scanner's glass and photo(s) are clean before scanning - dust and fingerprints show up! • Disable any 'auto-contrast' or 'colour correct' settings your scanner may have. • If your scanned images are too large to send by email, feel free to use www.sendspace.com or www.wetransfer.com to upload your images before sending them to Photo Restoration Leicester.
